A December 1st deadline may seem far away, but each year we receive last-minute requests from managers and administrators at cities, townships and villages across Michigan, looking to meet their CVTRS filing obligations at the last minute. Thankfully, we can help them produce and submit the requisite documentation, along with creating the necessary compliance documentation, in a matter of minutes.
But why wait until the last minute, when you can get this important filing requirement off your desk and over to the State in practically no time at all?
About the City, Village and Township Revenue Sharing Program
According to the State of Michigan’s website:
For fiscal year (FY) 2023, the Legislature continued the City, Village and Township Revenue Sharing (CVTRS) program. Each eligible local unit must meet all the program requirements to receive the full CVTRS payments.
Each city, village or township that received a FY 2022 CVTRS payment is eligible to receive a payment equal to 106% of the local unit’s total eligible FY 2022 payment amount.
Detailed Guidance and the updated CVTRS and CIP Certification (Form 4886) will be available on September 30, 2022. All program requirements must be met by 11:59 PM on December 1, 2022, to receive the full CVTRS payments.
Some municipalities aren’t even aware that this opportunity exists or what they need to file, where, and when. Or, if there has been employee turnover in the past year, the new hiree may be totally unaware that such an opportunity and obligation exists.
We’ve heard from countless municipalities what a pain this can be. Time-consuming, tedious, laborious administrative headaches.
Well, as Apple used to say, “We have an app for that.” And as we like to say, “Say hello to easy!”
With just a few clicks and one simple upload, our system does all of this for you:
- Completes and attaches Form 4886
- Generates the complete set of documentation needed to file
- Sends everything securely and directly to the State of Michigan
- Provides the compliance form requirement for your records
Come September 30th, detailed guidance and the updated CVTRS and CIP Certification (Form 4886) will be available. But let’s not wait until the last minute to tackle this challenge!
